This garden experience began in 1955 when Arnold Haskell bought the Norman’s Nursery property. The property is named for Arnold Haskell’s mentor and benefactor, M.H. Sherman. The garden includes seasonal flower beds, fountains, conservatories and patios. The plant collections include a cactus garden, succulent garden, desert plants and tropical vegetation. Some of their prize plantings include a California pepper tree, orchids, heliconias and gingers. The mission of the garden is to teach the community about native plantings and how to incorporate these into local gardens.
