Fountain Valley is located in Orange County, California. Fountain Valley is bordered on the south and west by Huntington Beach, on the North by Westminster and Garden Grove, on the northeast by Santa Ana, on the southeast by Costa Mesa and on the east by the Santa Ana River. The city covers a total of 9 square miles. The population is approximately 55,000 people. Fountain Valley was incorporated in 1957. Prior to 1957 it was known as Talbert or Gospel Swamps. The city received the name Fountain Valley from the very high water table. The Fountain Valley city motto is “A Nice Place to Live.” Fountain Valley is 29 miles south of Los Angeles and 83 miles north of San Diego. Residents have easy access to both John Wayne Airport and Los Angeles International Airport.

Fountain Valley students attend the Vista View Middle School, in the Ocean View School District. If you choose to further your education, Fountain Valley is home to the Coastline Community College, Orange Coast College and Golden West College.
Fountain Valley enjoys beautiful year round weather, making it the perfect climate to take advantage of the many outdoor activities the city has to offer. The Mile Square Regional Park is a 640 acre park which contains two lakes, three 18-hole golf courses, several playing fields, archery range, picnicking areas, and an urban nature area. The urban nature area is 20 acres of California native plants. There is a 55 acre recreation center with tennis courts, racquetball courts and full size basket ball court. The recreation center is home to the Kingston Boys and Girls Club, community center and senior center. In addition to the Mile Square Regional Park, there are 20 more parks scattered throughout the city and a host of recreational programs provided by the community center.
